    Both green and herbal teas are beneficial for your diet. Green tea, however, does have some caffeine, so if you are trying to avoid caffeine, then go for herbal teas. Overall, tea is a great addition to any diet. All tea has less caffeine than coffee, and all varieties of tea are certainly better for your health than sugary sodas and cream laden coffee.

    I think you will get different benefits from herbal teas than green teas. But, to me, drinking either will be a great benefit to your health.

      No way! Green tea is definitely the best for your health! True. It does have SOME caffeine, but the benefits are so great for this type of tea that a little caffeine is worth all the wonderful health benefits you'll receive when drinking this tea!

      Green tea drinkers appear to have lower risk for a wide range of diseases, from simple bacterial or viral infections to chronic degenerative conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, periodontal disease, and osteoporosis.

      I say go with green tea!

        Also, many people don't realize, or talk about it, but caffeine actually has health benefits as well!

        Here's the list of benefits from Wikipedia:

        Positive effects

        • Research is beginning to suggest that caffeine minimizes the cognitive decline associated with aging.
        • Caffeine increases levels of neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine, acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin, epinephrine and glutamate.
        • Acetylcholine is associated with attention, concentration, learning, and memory but there is no conclusive evidence yet that caffeine has any effect on memory and cognitive function.
        • Low doses of caffeine show increased alertness and decreased fatigue.
        • Caffeine has been shown to increase the metabolic rate.
        • Caffeine may reduce the risk of developing cancer and produce a delay in the average onset of cancer.
        • Caffeine may be associated with a reduced risk of Parkinson’s disease.
        • Caffeine may lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
        • Caffeine may reduce certain kind of hepatic cancers.

        Green tea contains less caffeine than most black teas and coffee. Plus green tea has many health benefits. I say go with the green tea!
